Ghosts, Witches, Pumpkins – they are all charming…

October 18th, 2008 by Classic Charms in Holidays; No Comments »; Share

Halloween is one the few holidays that we never outgrow.  You probably remember when you were a young child, you would decide what you “want to be”.  Your parents would either take you costume shopping, or if you were like me, you had one of those insanely creative mothers who always made our costumes and they were the best in the neighborhood.  We never had store bought costumes.  She would always ask us months ahead of time what we wanted to be, (there were three of us she made costumes for each year) and then she got busy creating a masterpiece only outdone from year to year. Then one day when you became “too old” to dress up and go trick or treating, you would get stuck at home handing out candy to all the lucky kiddos in the neighborhood.  Now as an adult, many still get to “dress up” because its the one day of year, that you can be whatever you want to be. Its the one day where there are no boundaries – if you can dream it – you can become it – if for only one day.  Were you one of those kids who wanted to be the neighborhood ghost or the evil witch or did you dress up as a pumpkin?  Did your trick or treat bag weigh you down by the end of the night? In celebration of this spooktacular holiday we have charms for all the ghosts, witches and even a trick or treat bag to bring back all those fond memories of halloween days gone by.  Decorate your halloween charm bracelet with all your childhood memories.

A Charm by any other name…

Some call it a charm, a pendant, necklace, whatever you call yours – it all comes down to one thing we all have in common: emotion.  Charms are a way of showing your emotion, whether it be about a special memory, a place you have traveled, a great love, friendship or just a hobby that you love – the idea behind charms and charm bracelets is show our feelings of something or someone.

The words “to charm” actually means “to attract” which is exactly what a wearer of a charm bracelet does. Charm bracelets are conversation starters as well as a way to preserve memories and make them last a lifetime and then some. Talk to a woman who has a charm bracelet and you will find there is a story behind each and every charm on her bracelet. Charm bracelets are a way to preserve precious moments in our lives.

What a wonderful gift to give someone – a lifetime full of memories.  We have many customers who start their child on a charm bracelet when they are born, then when they turn 15 or 16 – you know that great age when girls love showing off their jewelry and can appreciate it, you have a lifetime of memories, love, laughter and special moments wrapped around her wrist.

Go Pink!

One of the most universal signs we recognize today is the pink breast cancer awareness ribbon.  I bet you can’t find a single soul out there who doesn’t have a friend, Mother, Sister, daughter or relative who this awful disease has touched.  Did you know every 13 minutes one woman is diagnosed with breast cancer and caught early enough, it can be beat!  We, at Classic Charms are big supporters of the cause.  We choose to celebrate the survivors who have rose above this awful disease.  Our Breast Cancer Survivor Charm bracelet shows the stages a woman goes through when fighting to win against Breast Cancer. Charms include: a female symbol – because it affects all women, a lighting bolt – because it hits you like a bolt of lightning, a teardrop charm – because at first you cry, a heart charm – because you find the courage and strength from inside your heart,  a pink ribbon charm – because it makes you aware, and then a star charm, because then you shine.  We choose to donate to the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, PA for the proceeds of the sale of our survivor bracelets.  We also carry the pink Ribbon Charm, by Rembrandt Charms, and Rembrandt will donate 10% to the Susan G Komen Foundation to aid in the finding of a cure!  Together, we can find the cure.
